If a player switches and plays on another team but his number is retired, is the NFL jersey still worth keeping (or even wearing)? I just find it disappointing that whenever I buy a jersey, that player gets switched or traded to another team, and I just feel like an idiot for spending money on it. I've got a Nike screenprinted jersey and a Reebok premier of the same player (number is retired). I would buy a personalized jersey, but they're too expensive for me.But to me, it's not about the player, it's about the love of my fav team. So I wanted to know if these football jerseys worth keeping?
If the player doesn't do anything his first 4-5 years in the league toss the jersey....If a number of a player is retired then you know that player must have been one of the best and you should keep it..If you have an autographed jersey, then I would keep it as well.. There is really no way of telling whether one jersey or another is gonna be worth anything on the market 10-20 years down the line... I would personally keep the ones of my favorite team.. Even if only to wear them, I'm still supporting my team..... Good luck....
I know how you feel, when Mike Wallace was drafted, I bought his jersey. Lol. I'm considering selling the jersey, since it really isn't worth anything to me, anymore. I have Hines Ward's jersey and seeing him retire made me very happy, because his jersey is still worth something to me, now. It depends on who the player is, like if its someone who played for your favorite team for about ten years, then keep it. If its a player you like, then keep it.
Absolutely. I would think the original jersey would be worth-more than the jersey of the new team. Case in point: would you rather have an Arizona Cardinal jersey of Emmitt Smith, or one when he played with the Cowboys?just buy one when a player gets signed to a new contract so you'll know they're probably gonna be around for a little while
